Circle of Security Parenting Course EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

We are currently taking expressions of interest for our next Circle of Security course. Please respond with your preferred timeslots (daytime or evening, not weekends).  Once we have a group of 5 or 6 participants we can go ahead :)

Possible times are:

Monday afternoons (approx 12 - 2.30)

Tuesday evenings (time to be negotiated, but allow 2-2.5 hours)

Fridays late morning (11-1.30)

What is Circle of Secuirty?

Circle of Security is a free, group programme that helps parents to make sense of what their child is really asking and needing from them. It is an 8-week course and goes for 2 to 2.5 hours each week. When offered in the daytime we are able to support it with a free creche.

Circle of Security is designed to help parents to understand their child's behaviour and to build and strengthen a secure relationship with their child. Decades of university-based research have confirmed that secure children exhibit increased empathy, greater self-esteem, better relationships with parents and peers, enhanced school readiness, and an increased capacity to handle emotions more effectively when compared with children who are not secure.

Program benefits:

- Ways to enhance the development of your child's self-esteem, trust and sense of security

- Supporting the creation of a secure base from which your child feels able to explore their world, knowing there is a safe haven to return to.

- Strategies to build confidence as a parent so that you can enjoy parenting and take on new challenges along the way.
