Film Club - The Ordinaries

Come along to our film club and watch foreign/classic/cult/interesting movies with a group of like-minded people!

This month's film is The Ordinaries:

THE ORDINARIES immerses viewers in a dazzling, surreal cinematic world: main characters lead the colourful lives of musical stars, supporting characters speak only in scripted phrases, and at the bottom, the „outtakes” struggle to stay alive – colourless, disenfranchised and without music. In the midst of this, 16-year-old Paula, the daughter of a supporting character and a supposedly deceased hero, tries to pass the final test to become a main character. When she finds out that her father might still be alive, her search takes her to the world of the outtakes. There, she not only finds friendship but also confronts the brutal mechanisms of a society that strictly segregates its members.

With playful ingenuity, Sophie Linnenbaum blends science fiction, humour and social critique into a singularly original film that joyfully blurs the boundaries between reality and fiction

PLEASE NOTE THAT MEMBERSHIP OF OUR FILM SOCIETY IS REQUIRED FOR ATTENDANCE ($20 per family per year - covers up to 10 films per year - part year memberships available, just ask).  Film club membership is automatically included if you already hold a full Everyday membership of the centre.
