Death Cafe
Death Cafe - Join us for a cuppa, cake and conversation.
What is a Death Cafè?
A Death Cafè is a warm, informal gathering where people come together to talk about life, death and everything in between – over tea/coffee and cake. There is no agenda, no pressure and no judgement. Just people sharing thoughts, feelings, questions and stories in a safe space. It is an opportunity to connect with others in conversation about what many think they can't talk about.
It isn't counselling, bereavement or a grief support group: though grief may be expressed and shared. – just a chance to listen, reflect and connect. By speaking openly about death, dying and loss, many discover it helps to diminish fear and build understanding.
Why come along?
You might:
- Be seeking connection, understanding and comfort
- Be supporting someone else, or working through your own loss
- Thinking about end of life planning
There are many different reasons people choose to attend a Death Cafè. Some come to share, some to listen, to support others, and connect. Whatever brings you, you'll find a kind and respectful space where it's okay to talk – or not to talk about death, dying, loss, and life.
This is a free event, but donations of cake or other goodies is always welcome.
